One of the most critical and often overlooked settings with a mechanical fuel injection system is the barrel valve (idle mixture). Changes to the barrel valve setting will impact cylinder temperature and throttle response on the starting line which are critical for stellar 60' times and record breaking ET's. Changes in density altitude, ambient temperature, humidity, intake port temperatures, track conditions, and etc. may require a last second change to the barrel valve setting to achieve optimal performance. The CLICK-FAST Linkage Adjuster allows a crew member to readily change the barrel valve setting with 1/2 flat resolution in the pits or on the starting line for that added edge. |

just wanted to let the group know I got one of those Click-Fast adjusters from
Ron and Ray Hadford at

It is the newest, trickest little deal yet. I makes it so you don't have to use
wrenches to adjust the barrel anymore. In my opinion, it opens up a whole bunch
of new opportunities on how to run the car. You could lean it for a quicker
warm-up if you are a tad late for the next round. You could leave it a bit
leaner for the burnout, to build some more heat in the engine. Then have a
crewguy put some fuel back in it for the launch. Lots of things.
I put mine on last night. You have to measure and send them the measurement of
your current turnbuckle. I checked the leak, replaced turnbuckle with the new
Click-Fast. It was dead-on!! Way to go guys. I then played with it just to watch
the numbers change. It appears to move around 1% or just a little under for each
click, so setting the leak exactly where you want it isn't a problem.
